The world with its diversity is really fascinating. During travelling, it can be explored in various ways. One of them is eating. Some people say that way to one’s heart is through the stomach. There is some truth in that saying. Many people connect good memories with a taste. How can it work in Paris? Which dishes are worth trying during the visit in French capital?

Snails – an obligatory dish

It is difficult to imagine visit in France without trying traditional snails. In many restaurants there is an option to try it in a form of starter. They can be found in menu under a name “escargots ? la bourguignonne”. It is good to remember that, because not all the restaurants have an English menu. Another popular seafood here is oysters, sea snails or crab meat. Some restaurants in Paris serve only this kind of food. Of course, it offers also something to drink – the French wine.

Duck meat in various forms

Another well-known meal in France is a duck. Although some people find it too fatty, it still has a lot of followers. The duck drumsticks can be really delicious. Some restaurants serve duck with dried plums with small potatoes. The famous French dainty is also based on a duck meat, precisely the liver. It is called “foie gras”. It can be found mainly in December, because it is a typical Christmas dish in France.

Something to warm up?

Paris can be visited in every season. Of course in winter there can be a need to warm up a bit after wandering along charming streets. In that case, it is good to try traditional French onion soup. Its history reaches ancient times. Now it is served with a baguette or a piece of bread, covered with delicious cheese. It can be a good starter before any bigger dish. Even those that do not like onion in everyday food become convinced that it is worth trying.

Something sweet to eat

While being in the capital city of France, everyone should sit in a cosy cafe and try the aromatic coffee. In the morning, it tastes great with a fresh croissant with a smell of butter and some jam. It can also be good in a company of colourful, sweet macarons. That famous dessert that has a form of a round, tiny biscuit can be bought in many shops. The box of macarons can be a great gift from Paris. In France, various kind of delicious chocolate are also available.

French cuisine is quite original and diversified. It is not difficult to feel the climate of the city while sitting in a nice restaurant. Food can be a way to convince someone to that city. Onion soup? Only in France!
